DEP Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 4 ton of cement ...............Sorry...........I ll get my coat
moredoorAsh Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I seem to remember a mate of mine telling me that he weighing the van down to the desired height and then heated the leafs up............ Didn't see him do it, was a bit bouncy after too
Copey Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 i think the leaf sprigs are on the top of the rear axle yeah? i am sure you can flip the axle over (so the nearside becomes the offside, and mount the springs below the axle
Stu_B Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Yeah you need to mount the axle above the leafs rather than below, then use lowering blocks
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Yeah you need to mount the axle above the leafs rather than below, then use lowering blocks yep thats what i was gonna say
bortaf Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 As said flip the tube sorry i refuse to call that scaffold tube an axle
Billy_smith Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 may have a bit of trouble actually locating the axle on the leaf springs though, i think u may have to grind sumthing off the axle
DAZZA Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I seem to remember a mate of mine telling me that he weighing the van down to the desired height and then heated the leafs up............ Didn't see him do it, was a bit bouncy after too Dont do this.... I did it to my mk3 van back in the day and the spring broke at 85mph on the M25. I was later advised just to flip it on top of the springs.
