sitting_budda Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Ive bought a pair of legs which I originally thought were 2.8i legs as they have the nut at the base of the strut (wedged, m16 calipers with solid discs(figured someone had swapped the vented discs for solids???) and roller top mounts, 260/60 bilstein inserts) However after stripped them down I found these Ford Part stickers: A quick google linked pointed me to a Rally Prep manual which identifies them as GP1/2/4 Rally Struts. (http://www.rallyanarchy.com/EscortRallyPrep/Suspension%20Front.pdf) I measured the height of the spring seat against another of struts which I have (supposed to be mk1 rs2000 (covered in FOMOCO castings, and has detachable steering arms.))... .... and they are the same...so definatedly not 2.8i legs which are meant to be lower... so what springs +ratings do I use with these??? They are going on a mk1 escort with a 1760xflow. It is not my daily drive, and the overall spec is fast road but maybe used for driving to santa pod etc which is 1 1/2-2hours away so dont really want bone shaking, but want to improve over the current setup which is mk2 sport struts (standard inserts) with -2 inch 145ibs springs
