moredoorAsh Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 ...telling insurance companys about non motoring convictions when getting quotes... Got turned down for motor insurance the other day
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 you only need tell them about motoring convictions thats the way i understood it anyway
escortmad4eva Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 just be carefull cause i have read that if you dont tell them it could void yor insurence, have you got and old certificate or any old paperwork it tells you what can happen i think somewhere in the very small print. try www.moneysupermarket.co.uk they are very helpfull
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 dont know then i always just thought it was motoring related offences never ever crossed my mind of other offences
D-FENS Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 I was getting quotes recently for a car and i think it varied regarding motoring or non motoring convictions between different companies and comparison sites.
w p e Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 its got nothing and i mean nothing to do with them what other offence's you have accept motoring one's. more big brother b#ll s##t
D-FENS Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 its got nothing and i mean nothing to do with them what other offence's you have accept motoring one's. more big brother b#ll s##t I agree with you but if they are legally allowed to ask for non motoring convictions and you dont mention them if you have them ,then your insurance will be invalid.I found there was a difference between companies regarding the question "have you had any accidents in the last " some said 3 years some said 5 years .There should be an industry standard for this sort of thing .Perhaps Russian Bear can help us here if he sees this post .
caprinerd Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 i had this before called about car cover and they asked about other offences so i questioned why all they would say is that it company policy so i told them that what had happened was nothing to do with motoring at all and because i wouldnt tell them they refused to insure me
moredoorAsh Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 I'd never been asked untill the other day, Home insurance yes but not car. They asked the question so i thought i'd better answer honestly...... Normally its 5 years for points and bans, but was 5 years for points and 11 years for bans also.
