Hello.

First, I am Egoitz and I live in Bilbao, Basque Country.

I have a mk2 escort with a 2.0 Zetec engine. Fitted the engine is running 803 with twin 45 jenvys injectors, cams Dunellen, STEEL with rods, JE forged pistons, arp bolts, knife edged and balanced crank, arp flywheel Lightenerin flywheel bolts. Its running on dta S40pro ignition.

Now I have a problem. The first and second cylinder not working. The third and fours works ok. The 4 spark plugs work well. I've removed the admission and found to have low revs expelled air those two cylinders instead of absorbing the air as it should occur. I think it can be a problem in the intake valve or a cracked head gasket. Do you think? Has this motor lifter tappet regulation?

Before I start dismantling the opinion of an expert.

firstly your car and engine bay look stunning! very very nice

regards your engine my first thought would be the head gasket but have you had the cam cover off yet to check the cams and rockers? is the engine standard internally and is it a standard ford or non genuine head gasket?

cheers

It is not standar, it is running 803 with twin 45 jenvys injectors, cams Dunellen, STEEL with rods, JE forged pistons, arp bolts, knife edged and balanced crank.. Its running on dta S40pro ignition.

I have not yet raised the valve cover, but I think there can be only two options.

The hydraulic tappets are stiff or head gasket is cracked and communicates the first and second cylinder.

What do you think?

i would try the easiest option first and pull the cam cover off and inspect.

assuming everything is ok in there then i would be looking to the head gasket it sounds like the compression and or heat has blown the fire rings.

The car was stopped two months and when I turn on it was not right.

Before stoping the car I changed the oil, I put ford 5W30.

Now the oil and water levels are well.

This weekend I pull the cam cover off and inspect.
