Just got the Feb issue and its all good stuff. I am a huge fan of Mk1 escorts, I navigate in one and i love it almost as much as i love my own OSF.

That said though why couldn't the cover Escort play second fiddle to the MK1 Capri for once.

That capper is rare (RS3100), unique (have never seen that done to a capri), modified (triple DCNF, NOS, etc), a mix of the old and new and a minter. The only possible issue i can see is that it isn't homemade, (I know we all like to see a sweet OSF roll out of a normal bloke's garden shed). I feel if this was an escort it would have been on the front.

I know there are more Escorts out there than any other OSF but they still manage to get much more exposure than their numbers warrant. We have enjoyed 11 issues of RF, 8 of them had Escorts as the cover car and the 3 issues that had other OSFs(2 anglias and a cortina) had an Escort as their secondary feature car.

Ye run a great mag and it has been great from issue one but variety is the spice of life. I'd like to see a change and i think yourselves and CF have recieved posts like this before so I don't think I'm alone.

The other aspects of the mag are fantastic, esp the Tech pages. They have proved a great help on specific jobs and in my general understanding of the maintainance and modding of OSFs.

Thanks for your time and effort!

Hi dude, well thanks for your comments about the mag they're much appreciated and to you and anyone else please keep the comments coming as we do listen!

As you probably know yourself, Escorts do (fortunately or unfortunately whichever way you look at it) make up the majority of old skool Fords being coveted / run on the street / modified / raced and rallied. Our aim was to cater for the WHOLE Ford scene but be realistic about how the scene is made up. General concensus is that if the Ford scene's made up of 50% Escorts, 15% Cortinas, 15% Anglias, 10% Capris and 10% others then the mag should reflect this is features / feature cars to that effect.

We do really try to give the best mix we can, and if you look at our covers you'll see we always throw in a non-Escort as often as we can. Sorry about the Capri, I loved the car which is why we ran it as the BIGGEST secondary cover car to date!

All I'll say is this: We have got some very serious, very trick non-Escorts coming up so keep your eyes peeled and I hope it keeps you and others happy. 8)

All the best,

Ben

Wow i'm surprised Capri's only make up a paltry 10% !

No wonder I can't buy a descent Mk 3 3.0 S but could pick up a Mint RS2000 all day long

Edit: I think theres plenty more Capris out there but the owners are a tad more reserved which is why they arent as forthcoming.

What about doing a feature on Docs new JPS
