vibrating_Cake Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 im looking around for some new wheels, a decent width and a decent diameter... but all i can find fordwise (without going peugeot) is "group 4 fittament" what is this??? looking for 8x15 and 9x15" wheels or x16" wheels if i can find any... but whats group 4, and will they fit under capri arches??
SmokeEm Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Gp 4 studs are longer than normal and the part nearest the hub has no thread. The idea being that when you put the wheel on it locates easily and stays put while you attach the nuts on rather than needing 3 hands as with a normal capri setup. The wheels are made (or have inserts) to suit these studs which is why you see them advertised as Gp 4 Mililites etc. They also have a nut on the back as well rather than just relying on them being a tight fit in the hub like the std ones. You will also need matching Grp4 wheel nuts which are different from a std nut & stronger as well. Grp4 studs/nuts are 1/2" UNF threads. Hope this helps wobbly
