buying welding gas-how old do you have to be?

hi all ran out of gas today welding up my mk1, going to go and buy some tomorrow from toolstation its a tenner and the disposable thingys,

 

my question is my dad cannot come with me tomorrow in the morning to buy it and is there an age limit? nearly 17 and im not just buying the gas too, should i bother?

had an ask around google cant find nothing really anyone confirm this for me?

its not as if your going to inhale the gas from a cylinder like that or use it to stab anyone you should be allright
