prop into gearbox????????

hi guys

 

i have a single prop

going from atlas to t5 gearbox

 

 

when removing the prop to replace the atlas pinion seal i can see that the

prop is only going into the gearbox 2"

 

should it be in move than that????

 

i can get a alloy spacer made up as i have both the prop and prop mount to axle off

 

i am waiting to get a pinion seal so have time to get it made if needed

 

 

just dont want to have to get under the car again at a later date when it can be done right

i would say yes it should go into the gearbox more than that,i spoke to neil of 1 0 5 speed & he was very helpful & i will be getting a prop made by him from scratch. My mate had a spacer made & it was a bastad to balance

its the same guy who made my wheel spacers and they where spot on

 

should i aim for a 1" spacer?

i would say it should go in the box atleast an inch or maybe 2? be worth checking with someone who has one done as to much & it can smash the box ive heard?
