hello chaps

just had to take the gearbox out again after only one run to woburn car show total 60 miles .it's like the release bearing is rubbing on the teeth of the pressure plate and squealing like a fan belt sound.. i have replaced a new bearing but i am now concerned that there is not enough space between the bearing and pressure plate teeth when the clutch is off does anyone know if there is an official messurement between the bearing and teeth of should they be together constantly..also while on the subject my clutch fork seems to stop it's return journey on one of the bell housing bolts is this correct didn't realise till is was all back in we are only talking 3-4 mm but it pushes the fork on a weird angle .. any views/ knowledge will help as i don't fancy taking apart again :banghead::huh:

whats it fitted in? Defo don't sound good,is it a standard clutch set up & release bearing? Ive done a few pintos & never worried just fitted them & all is good. Dose the release bearing spin freely as it sounds as though it may be seized.

mk2 rs2k standard every thing zetec powered thought original bearing had colapsed so took box out replaced bearing although other looked alright after inspect put back in and after sighting noticed that fork was crooked but as bearing sort of floats on fork will it matter going for a test tommoz to see if it makes any noise cheers

Sounds like a fault of the bearing or if the fork is bent then it could not locate properly on the 2 little clips that hold it to the bearing & the bearing will be on the wonk on the gearbox. Just a guess really as its hard to say without seeing it

What clutch kit? i've had loads of problems with QH kits that use the plastic release bearings, mainly in anything with a H/D clutch, one diesel escort started squeeling after a wekk and still does 3 years later :(
