What modern engine would you put in your classic Ford?

if i ever get my own business im gonna have a mk1 or 2 escort van with a ford 2.0 tdci engine conversion. i just think it would be sick!!!

but id never put a modern engine in my anglia, i can see why people do but in my opinion it ruins it whats the point in having a classic that hasnt got a classic engine, i use a mk2 escort with a 1600 crossflow as my daily runner yer it drinks the fuel but its worth it in my eyes, its better than spending the money on drugs like most kids my age. haha
