Aldridge/East Kent Trim/Classic Trim! Opinions please.
Skoty replied to Escota's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
havnt tried the rest, but have used east kent trim and never will again!! absolute bollox! poor quality parts that dont fit or look anything like the originals, and the chap isnt very helpful either! absolutely useless company in my experience but i have heard a few people say there alright but i must stress few people if ya know what i mean. one of the things i bought was a rear screen rubber for my 105e and it was like 4" too long!! wouldnt fit at all! the chap reckons that there cant be anything wrong with it as noone else had moaned! he tryed telling me its supposed to be like it, i sent it back in the end and he was abit of an arse, telling me something like "you wont get any different ones because i supply all the places with theres" so i had a second hand original one off a mate and cleaned up in the end. -
Do people still go yarmouth seafront on a Sunday night?? I remember a few years back me and my mates all used to cruise up there in our cars.... It used to be ram packed! You'd be lucky if you could park up, then if you parked it would take about 10 minutes to pull out of the space to do a lap because of how many cars where driving about, granted most of the cars where boy racer plastic fantastic boomboxes but still used to make an entertaining night.... Anyways me and a mate went up the other Sunday and it was dead!! Literally about 20 cars there? Its a shame if it has died, as people have been meeting in there cars there for decades!

well id started to lose interest in my Anglia, hadn't really done anything to it since about last june. and after buying my model y that im hotrodding. started to think the anglia would never get done.... but today despite being frozen to death in my workshop with no heating. i went out there, got all the wiring sorted and got her turning over on the key, just need to sort some new plug leads out and she should run. instantly enthusiasm is regained! cant wait to get more parts and get her done for the show season now, just want to keep working on her! iv updated my build thread with a few new pics. im also building a tuned 100e lump for my model Y so im pretty busy haha!! still... keeps my mind busy.

Did you buy it?
-
thats just the thing, iv seen ones which look better that have 80,000 on the clock haha. some people just live in a dream world, if anyone payed more than £6,000 for that they need there head looking at in my opinion. id rather spend 20,000 on a lotus tina or something hahaha.
-
if it was up the road from me id be down there in a flash! let me know how it goes.
-
how would it be worth 20,000!?? its still only a 4dr mk1 escort! not even a very tidy looking one at that to be honest haha.

yeah i cant wait to get her done now, especially since she's looking like a car again now hopefully buy some parts for her tomorrow.

so gutted that i didnt get my Anglia done for this year, will defiantly be there next year though, so close its unreal only need gearbox, seats and wheels then bolt doors on. somehow dont think ill get that done and MOTed in 1 day
-
to be honest though on a pre 40s car what is there to fail on? brakes dont work very well as standard and so long as the chassis is sound bodywork isnt to much of a worry you dont have emissions test and theres no noise limit only thing will be tires , good job im getting a Model Y soon but im thinking its away the government will make more money from handing out fines for little things. id probably still get mine done quite regular maybe not every 12 months but maybe like 18 just for piece of mind.
-
oh right didn't know you ment past year in your life, my lifes been pretty sucky to be honest so im hoping for a brighter future. but if i had to choose id say 2008 just past my driving test, only had a mk1 fiesta but was never home, would get home from work, call my mates and just drive all night till about 3 in the morning usually going through about £50 of fuel a night every night haha good times just aimlessly driving round Norwich and Gt. Yarmouth.

i wouldn't of thought brake rollers would harm it as a LSD isn't fully locked is it? i mean if it was a mig spec i could see where your coming from.

mid 40's in america for me i think, hot rodding in its prime ....ahh how i dream... id have a 32 coupe with a flathead v8 and hit Bonneville to be honest id do anything to get out of this day and age i hate it! anytime pre 65 will do me nicely.

man it pisses me off how everythings so commercialised now'a days back then it was just about having fun, being 21 i missed out on al the good times and was born into the crap we have today. i too miss that shed behind the start line, was awesome being in there while someones doing a burnout! petrol and rubber fumes, cant beat it.
-
thats cool man iv actually seen pictures of this car racing, would love to own something with abit of history.

bet they'll write it off, id let them, get the pay out and buy it back. almost anything can be fixed so i wouldn't worry too much mate. still sad to see though.
-
man thats so bad! feel for the guy, i cant imagine just standing there watching my car burn and theres nothing you can do about it. i think id probably curl up in a ball crying in the middle of the road hope his insurance are helpful.
