Hey :)

I've just bought a 1969 Cortina 1600E, so have joined this forum 8)

I also have a 1975 BMW 1602, but its just come off the road, hence the new purchase. I'm also looking for an early 50's Ford or Chevy, but it could be some time til i find the right one!

My Cortina needs a ball joint for its MOT, and i've been looking online, googling, on here etc, but i'm drawing a zero.. If anyone has any suggestions where i can buy parts, please let me know!

I've been to a few Retro Rides meets over the last year or two with my BMW, and the Retro Rides and Classic Ford shows over the years. So i'm looking forward to some more with the new Cortina 8)

Will add a pic of the car to my signature soon...

You should be able to get most parts from your local motor factor

I'll give that a go. I really hope parts are easier to get than they appear right now... I've had various cars from the 60's and 70's and never even had to worry about finding parts. I want the Cortina to be my daily

Hi MissA , if you join one of the two owners clubs then everyday spares like these are a lot easier

Yeah, i might just do that :) thanks for the advice

I don't really plan to do any mods, so its just a question of needing bits if something breaks or goes wrong, so fingers crossed eh?

I've spent the last 7 years in the VW scene, which is just huge! I've owned a few beetles, a karmann ghia and my beloved splitscreen panel van. But there does seem to be quite a good club scene for retro Fords :D and i love lots of retro cars

I'm afraid were never going to have quite the setup the VDub guys have but you'll be surprised at the bigger Ford meet ups , the Mk2 club I belong to has a good national rally at Billing Aquadrome in July , heres their spares info (only to members though)

we tend to help each other out a bit and also frequent the buysellcortina website as well , if that car of yours has a reg beginning with RTR I know it well !

Nah, its not RTR. But thanks for the link, the club looks like it might be good to join. I'll see if i can make it to the rally at Billing, my dad lives near there. Most of my summer weekends are taken up with VW or hotrod shows, but there are a few gaps for me to fit in some Ford shows i think! 8)

Ok, my BMW is getting fixed now, which is great news :D i thought it would be later on this year before the work was started. But unfortunately this means the cortina will have to go... so see it in the for sale section soon :)
