Problems with steering boss quick release ????????

Just fitted a new sparco style wheel and a quick release boss looks amazing but it's in my face lol !!

 

I have a boss for the spline and then the quick release mechanism then the wheel but now the steering wheel is really close to me and a long way (6 or7 inches) from the indicator stalk.

 

Is it possible to get a short boss as my omp one is quite long !

I'm gonna try on my dads caterham 7 boss as I think they use the same steering rack don't they?

 

If it fits then il buy one as its only 3 Inches as oposed to my one Which is about 8 or 9"

Well that's that idea out the window, the caterham uses a mk1 steering coloum...

 

so today I Went and bought a old steering wheel off the guy I sold my 4dr too and cut it off it's boss then I shortend the boss by 80mm to allow space for the quick release now all I have to do is make a plate and weld it on so I can bolt the release onto it then fingers crossed il be sorted!!! Should be alot further away than before anway!
