I am a London mini cab driver and as far as I understand it is. if it was a serious allegation even thou found not guilty it is recorded, something to do with if it happens to many times then maybe there is a potential problem.

A mate still has a fire arms offence for carrying a 2.5 inch lock knife during the Brixton poll tax riots, even thou found not guilty and being told record would be scrapped, as he was only 16 at the time..

The CRB checks are set up to find exactly that .... your past history. As far as I know, there is no way of removing any information in case it becomes an issue in the future (ie. it keeps happening like Stiggy says). If you have been a cabby for a while has this not shown up on previous checks? Also, if it is not relevant to the job - maybe if you want to be a cabby and it is for shoplifting then it would not necessarily be relevant to your job.

The aligation ** edited by Admin to remove content ** I've been told today that as it's only a aligation and I wasn't charged it can be removed but at the Thames vally police discretion

Maybe it would be best if you talk to Thames Valley Police then to see what their position is with the allegation and it's possible removal from your record
