johnny_h Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 This past two weeks I have been pulling my hair out (if I had any) on the phone to Brighton's gestapo! To cut a long story short, the events council are scared us Oldskoolforders are gonna come down to the seaside and scare all the coffin dodgers by hooning up and down the seafront leaving dunlop rubber all over their nice road. I have assured them that we leave all that malarkey to the ricers and circus dwarfs in black vans but the bean counters are still worried. I have put my neck on the line and promised that everyone coming will behave and we have been given 100 spaces on Madeira drive. At one point I was told that we couldn't reserve any spaces at all so believe me when I tell you we are lucky to get what we have! The first 100 applications received will be guaranteed a parking place for 24hrs on the seafront. If you don't get on the list there is nothing to stop you joining the convoy but it will be your responsibility to find parking when we reach Brighton. The 100 cars will be identified by a London to Brighton plaque from our kind sponsor Retro Ford magazine. Look at this year as our chance to show Brighton council what we are really about and maybe next year we'll have the road to ourselves! Johnny PS Seeing as it was a nice day today Mrs JohnnyH and I went down to Brighton to choose our parking spot on Madeira drive. Went for a paddle too!
