Ive worked for them for 14 years and ive asked several times for my contract of employment but they cant seem to find it. some of the staff we have look at me to help them so if i had some form of standard handbook i might be in a position to help more

Not every company, however, has a handbook. See here: http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461 They are also very helpful if you phone them to find out your rights as well I also found this website which gave me some free templates to use including a handbook template which can be changed to suit your own company http://www.human-resource-solutions.co.uk/index.html

Trevmk3 Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 i have our company handbook, one in my cupboard of the bench, one in my locker and one at home just incase
davreeve Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Last Friday at my place of work we all got a contract of employment to read and sign along with a handbook. My job title is "workshop foreman" which was news to me ! . Mind you i am the only person in the workshop so i suppose that figures.
mk1estate Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 ive been with my company for 14 years and as yet never seen my contract of employment, though i have asked several times for it. I have never seen a company handbook but the managers keep quoting from it. Ive decided now that i can no longer help as no one here will stick together, they seem to keep asking me for advice and when i stick up for them they back down and leave me in a world of sh*t all on my own fighting on thier behalf
Kasper Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 I have never seen a company handbook but the managers keep quoting from it. This really pee's me off. I worked at a garage that bollocked me constantly for 'not doing things the way the handbook says' bearing in mind when I started there they told me they were still writing it! After 3 months I got sick of it and walked out. It was run by a couple who argued constantly and then let me have it, that didn't help either!
