is it at all possible to get a feature done whereby you road test, rolling road a car on twin 40's, then swap the set up to equivalent bike carbs, ninja's etc, on the same car so you have identical peramiters, same gearbox, diff, weight etc etc, then run the same tests, road test, rolling road, power run, mpg etc etc, so we can finally see, for definate, what the pro's and cons of each are? rather than the never ending debate of which is better, i'd offer my car but at the mo i'm finishing a 2 year resto on it and it won't be ready till next spring, i've ran bike carbs for over 3 years and think they are fantastic, but my friends run webbers, similar engines, and we can all keep up with each other etc, but i out do them with the fuel economy, so i'd just like to see it done, once and for all?

cheers for reading my novel, think i'll get it published and turn it into a few films, hahaha.

trouble with this is very few car tuners know their way round a bike carb and how to get the best from them, and very few bike tuners will touch bike carbs on a car engine and vice versa, luckily i know a dyno man with lots of experience in both bikes and car tuning

I'm sure he'd be up for a bit of experimenting

Good call.

We already have another comparison test under way along similar lines, but if time, funds and knowledge permit it, we'll run this one as well.

I read the article with great interest. Not wishing to sound rude but it was a pity it wasn't written by someone that knows how carbs work.

even people who know how carbs work... dont know how carbs work LOL.

people have knowledge of carbs, but to have intimate knowledge and to know exactly what you are on about takes years of experience etc.

saying that i havent read the article nor am i an expert on carbs, but i know my way around them for a stripdown+rebuild and fault finding!
