sharkboy22 Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 does anyone know where i can get a bolt on supercharger kit for mk 2 1600 in australia or some one that can ship them over here
killerkerry89 Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 i think most S/C conversions are done with Eaton superchargers off the new mini cooper S, you'll have to make your own brackets and manifold etc and get a pulley machined for it. might be worth looking on www.turbosport.co.uk. is it crossflow or pinto??

JP. Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Point is the Eatons are not suitable to run wet mixture. It can be done and it has been done but the std inner seals are not designed to handle fuel. So if its not your daily you can take the risk using an Eaton M45 or so otherwise it will cost you a lot of money to convert an Eaton blower with Teflon seals.
Beakster Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 With a suitable carb, then the carb can be after the charger so doesn't need to be wet. I believe Sprintex used to do a bolt on kit but don't know the details. There is a weber carb that's suitable for turboing, that came on the RS Turbo engine, otherwise maybe a single Delorto would do. You could also seal your existing carb in a box.
killerkerry89 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 aaah, forgot the mini is injected. cant be that hard to change a set of seals though surely?? good luck btw, sounds like a cool project!!
