Hi with regard to the query in the November 2010 issue about the MKI GT 4 door i've done abit of checking and the GT was available in 4 door form as standard in the UK no need to special order and was available from the launch of the 4 door in October 1969 alongside the 4 door De Luxe and Super. The two books I checked to confirm were Escort MKs 1,2,3,4 by Jeremy Walton (1990 edition page 54) and Ford Escort & Cortina Guide To Purchase And DIY Restoration Kim Henson (1993 edition page 26). Hope this clears things up for you and the owner (maybe you could guide them to this thread).

On a different note I liked the special edition special and was really pleased to see a picture and article on the Linnet thats what made me buy the magazine as I generally never buy it anymore. Not all Linnets had the orange and brown stripes there were other colours too, click here and scroll down for some pics of a Strato Silver Linnet with red and black stripes http://www.eodc.co.uk/forums/index.php? ... d-moments/

I did think you were very unfair about the Goldcrest its a very smart car and well appointed it had alot more extras than the Linnet & Harrier, the Goldcrest was nearly Ghia Spec if fitted with the option pack and the colour coded sports steels look ace. Still good to read about them in the mag as they are very rare these days its believed the Linnet and Goldcrest are down to single figures for survivors.

(feel free to print this in the magazine letters page if you wish)
