SebringRS Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Bought the fezza a while back, was just waiting for it to be delivered, that arrived this morning Only one shot of it so far Is what it says it is on the back needs a new exhaust, battery, front bumper, and then should be running good. This is my dads other "daily" now, as he's deciding to keep this for abit, as its not as good as we 1st thought, but still was fairly cheap Only was from round the corner, so wasent like we had to travel We even walked round to pick it up We t-cutted a few bits yesterday when we got it back, which imporved it no end, so tomorrow me and my dad are going to give it a damn good clean and a lick of polish, see how good we can get it to come out, other than that, runs fine, starts on key everytime, and is bloody comfortable
MEXY867M Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Look pretty good buys to me like the cortina most cant be to many estate versions about mate
lotusless Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 two nice buys tom love the tina estate
SebringRS Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 ill take some better pics of both tomorrow after they've been buffeted The 'tina could do with a full re-spray, but we really can't afford to do it, especially as were only gunna have it a few month, its solid, just surface rust coming through Was going to try and touch it all up to make it presentable, but think we'll just do our best with what we have, t-cut might get rid of it a little bit Can't blame it for rusting, had a good run, been sat outside for 14 years, 2 owners from new. Suprised it hasent rotted into the ground by now
Yeomans22 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 both look good, i think you should keep the fez if its any good for when you pass your test, my dad had 2 cortina estates and i really want one myself now but no more space
SebringRS Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 I want to keep the Fez, but dads paid for it through business money, and need to go back in the bank They'll be other fezza's
SebringRS Posted January 1, 2011 Author Report Posted January 1, 2011 Heres a few more of the cortina, spent yesterday cleaning it. The interior, which came up absolutely stunning, just need to possibly steam clean the carpets, then thats mint. Exterior well didnt go as well, but is deffo 100% better, needs a damn good clean again, dads looking at electric polishing mops now, so he can get the old sand paper and G3 out on the dull bits, proper bufty job First off, my excellent work on the interior, with only a can of furniture polish and some airfreshener, this is how it turned out Next, my dads handy work, the exterior, 1st pic, the difference one coat of polish and t-cut made to the bonnet Next lot are just under bonnet, not much to see under there, just surface rust. And then the mint rear loading floor Thats all for now, will try and get some more pics of the fezza soon
supersport Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 get it cleaned up and take it to see the old owner!
SebringRS Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 get it cleaned up and take it to see the old owner! Think both the guy we bought it off, and the guy that had it from new would have a heart attack As I dont think either of them had heard of polish before We were doubting ourselves while we were polishing it about weather it was worth doing or not, the quote "you can't polish a turd" did spring up at one point, but was deffo worth it
Yeomans22 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... 559&page=2 i remember reading on buysellcortina that when the car was sold recently from its original owner, that they cried as they had had it so long, would be nice to take it back round.
lotusless Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 the corty looks very nice now bufty boys
SebringRS Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 Might have to have a dig and see if i can find the original owner, bet he'd be well chuffed to see it still going
SebringRS Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 Just sent the guy a PM on retro rides to see if he's got the guys contact details Which i have now clicked who it is, he owns currently a 6 cylinder mustang, goes to alot of the american shows at billing
