Hi. I had my mk2 escort cosworth (2 door) stolen  in January from my lockup. It was in excellent condition, on the road, with standard cosworth running gear, lowered on adjustable coilovers, cage, bucket seats, stripped out.

My insurance company wants proof of its value, and i cannot find a recent advert anywhere to prove how much a mk2 escort cosworth it is worth. I valued it at 10k which is not excessive, considering how much it would cost to build, and this tends to be the going rate of a half decent one, and I basically want to replace what i have lost.

What do you value them at? I will be sending a copy of this thread to my insurance company towards my proof of its value. Any recent adverts would be appreciated!

Thanks

Firstly, sorry to hear about your car

Many insurance companies will accept a written valuation from a club. We are often asked to provide a valuation letter for our members which is then passed on to the insurance company. However, we do charge for them (unless you are a contributor) and we do like to see the cars to be able to value them which is obviously not possible on this occasion.

I guess you did not have agreed valuation with your current insurer? - many classic car insurers (like Premium Choice for example) will give an agreed value on your car by way of photos of the car.

If you could give a written spec of the car, mods, costs, photos onto this thread then you will get some honest answers of a value

I never knew that.
