alfas Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 what a mess!! it takes hours to log-in, the structure of the forum is not as easy and clear as before. why can´t people keep their fingers away from a running system? or did somebody complain? i guess not. i WANT my OLD FORUM back!!!!

Look at the colour variations box and pick the mess you like. it takes hours to log-in, the structure of the forum is not as easy and clear as before. The forum layout is identical to the old one, it's just got a bit more colour (or mess) to it. Not sure why you've had a problem logging in. It's something for me to look at. why can´t people keep their fingers away from a running system? The software that was running the old forum was old and had insecurities. or did somebody complain? i guess not. No. We needed to freshen it up, and drag it into the 21st Century. i WANT my OLD FORUM back!!!! Well you can't

ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 I can't see the problem at the moment. All usernames and passwords are exactly the same as before. Can you remember what the error message was, if you got one? If not, what did it do?
dave waudby Posted March 1, 2011 Author Report Posted March 1, 2011 just kept saying incorrect user name or password, i even asked for a new password and the link in my email wouldnt work, it was by chance i tried veiwing forum and my posts then it asked me to login and i used my name and my password NOT the password sent to my email when i tried it that way

So, there was a warning which was given out to ALL members

There was an announcement in the forum what was happening. Granted, yes we could have sent an email round to everyone, but as we made the announcement in the forum we didn't feel this was necessary. If only we could it was with us for 6 years and had to many faults so having this upgrade will only make the site more secure and more with the times. I loved the old way mush easier but unfortunately it had to go. thanks Darren

"Granted, yes we could have sent an email round to everyone, but as we made the announcement in the forum we didn't feel this was necessary." the forum lives and dies with the members...like in a democracy...as the members havent been asked it looks like a dictatorship. anyway..it is like it is...so we have to live with "it"....for the moment, from my side, with less activity!!! (there are other old-school ford forums around the web)

I don't like alot of things but I have to live with them. Or maybe we could put the site back to how it has and get hacked and have fook all. thanks Darren
