Was a toss up between there or Ashby Foeville tonight, but seens i've been to Ashby, i thought i'd try something new Were going in the V8 Mk1 (if you miss that look for the yellow Road Runner ), so pop over and say hi if you see us

"Future Classic Car Meets Cancelled

It is with regret that we have been forced into a position of having to cancel all future car meets at Becketts Farm.

 

Unfortunately we are unable to control the crowds that gather on both sides of the dual carriageway AND in the central reservation to watch cars that leave our site totally out of control, often swerving towards the people standing dangerously close to the road.

 

On Police recommendation for the July meet, steps were taken to try and tape a barrier so that people at least stood back some way from the road but unfortunately many people, two individuals particularly, not only disregarded this but were verbally abusive to our organisers when asked to step back.

 

We have very much enjoyed hosting the car meets over the past two years and we extend our thanks to all those who have supported the meets by bringing their classic cars along for show. We also thank all who have attended wishing to enjoy the show and who have shown respect for the community event that we originally wanted to support."

 

Real shame, didn't get there until quite late, was some nice car on show, actually said to my friend as we left that I wouldn't be suprised if it got cancelled after that. Why do people insist on bringing there crap modern cars to these things and driving them like idiots. Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I find it so annoying at these things when you see modern cars that arn't even remotely interesting in the show area, and nice classic being sat at the back of the overspill car park.

Would have tried to bring my escort next month, oh well

My m8 went in his RSTurbo and said there was no police, which meant it was manic with everyone leaving Shame, as it was a good meet
