Stretch Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Evening all, this is all new to me at the moment always had vw campers and now i have a supersport to get back on the road after 20 odd years in the garage, I am going to need a few parts to sort this car out. Under the bonnet like the metal water pipe that runs from the bottom hose to the water pump on supersport is it the same as an mk1 XR2, also do they share many parts in the brakes & suspension areas, unleaded petrol is this best to get the head sorted or is there a way round it, just picking peoples brains at the moment to see the best way to go many thanks
Fiesta Steve Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Water pipe is the same, brakes are different. The 1300 basically had the same brakes as the 950/1100 models. If the car is just a weekend toy then unleaded with an additive is fine, if its to be used daily it might be worth doing something about it.
Stretch Posted July 16, 2011 Author Report Posted July 16, 2011 Thanks Steve for the info just been watching a pipe on ebay going for a mental price, might try a second hand one if I can get hold of one, think I will give additive a go for a while
Fiesta Steve Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 The trouble is second hand ones usually have the same problem, rust. I bought a new one from Ford for a Mk2 Fiesta 1100, it fitted with a small amount of modification
Stretch Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 What sort of mods are we talking about
Fiesta Steve Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 The bracket that bolts it to the block is in a different place, I just cut it off. The heater hose outlet is in a different place, I don't have heaters so just blanked it off. Thats about it
