Hi folks I've been kicking around on this forum for a while with the intentions to one day get my self a on the road mk2 escort well I've done it and I love it

 

BUT

 

I've only managed to drive it the 200 miles home and now it's bust it sounds like the cranks gone. So if it was you what would you do it's a 1.6 x flow but not a 711 so would you rebuild it or try and source another one and just swap them over. Plus what sort of Money would I be looking at for both options any help would be great as I just want to drive it.

sorry to hear that m8 if you have waited for so long why dont you just buy yourself a running engine to swap straight over + get back on the road asap? then you could source a good 711 lump for a full rebuild in your own time
