i have been having problems getting my 40s to balance properly on my pinto i put a bit of hose to the end of the trumpets cylinders 1&2 sound fine no 3 the air flow sounds a bit erratic and i can here a tapping sound no 4 is the same but the tapping isnt so loud if have checked the valve clearances they seem ok anyone got any ideas what the proplem is

you have to use the throttle linkage and the idle mix screws to balance them [a screw next to the manifold]

you use the throttle linkage to balance front to back and the mix screw to balance each half of the carb
