Purchased as a standard car for the sum of £175 from a guy who had bought it for his girlfriend to learn to drive in but she didn't like it! Ended up turning it into this... in a way I pioneered rat look long before it became fashionable! Ended up scrapping that when I bought my second car, a white 1300L Mk1 Escort. Ended up getting rid of that after a few months & bought this Mexico replica: Around the same time I bought this to break for spares for £50: The lad I bought it off was racing his mate along Paignton seafront, his mate braked hard & the Escort ended up going into the back of him! Pic of the above together: Scrapped the Ghia & sold the mk1 stupidly cheap when I got pissed off with it!! Took it to a garage who buggered the brakes up!! At this time I went over to the darkside & bought an 1800ZVH powered Series 1 RS Turbo. Quick car but reckon it was cursed! The day I bought it, the NS front wheel nuts came loose & all but dumped me onto 3 wheels!! Later on in the ownership the drivers door bottom hinge imploded onto itself! Sold at a loss I went seriously darkside & bought a modified Series 2 RS Turbo: (No laughing at the back!! ) I took this to one of the Devon meets & that's how I ended up with my I love plastic message under my name! This one ended up getting sold to GS Escorts dirt cheap when it rotted itself out! Whilst I owned the above I bought my current mk1 Estate:
