Mk1 Escort Zetec Conversion......

What has to change, what has to be bought etc.

 

 

Really tempted to do this to the 1100 next year as im using it everyday and have figured a Zetec would be the best route to go for reliability and cost to use everyday

 

Whats involved in the conversion? And anyone know any ways to make it a budget swap, as i have very limited funds, and as good as all the Retro Ford conversion stuff looks, theres no way i could afford to do it using everything from that Maybe a few bits But only if they are really needed

when i looked at it,

 

i think you need a sierra cvh sump and pick up pipe, cvh starter motor, engine mounts, gearbox bell housing, spiggot bearing, the ignition system you can use from a old escort but might not be brillaint for a zetec but will at least have it running,

 

then brakes, suspension need to be looked into so probably going to cost a few quid to do.

 

but zetecs are pleanty so blow it up and fit another
