mk_one_estate Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 hello everyone just after everyones opinion on weather to get some 13x6 or 13x7 superlights for the front of my mk1 estate, its going to be running 7's on the rear, just might be a bit different to have 6's on the front ??? what do you lot think, cheers, Marcus
fezza Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Always liked that look on the 100e's and 105e's,i personally would keep the 7's all round on mk1 and mk2 escorts,my opinion of course
mk_one_estate Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 thanks for the reply Trev i think im swaying towards 7's all round too to be honest cheers M
mk_one_estate Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 love that white estate its pretty much the reason i bought mine 7's it is then haha cheers guys M
SebringRS Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 I know mine aint an estate, but im going 7's all round, was tempted with what you said too, but im not sure it'd look right, looks good on a 100e as said, but i think the escort would look like it was falling over itself at the front 7's all round for sure
mk_one_estate Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 done, ill get some pic's up when i get round to fitting them cheers chaps Marcus
Savvi Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 I got these for sale i've sold my estate now. Compomotive 13" x 7's will need some cleaning up have tyres, not sure how good they are. Also got a couple of engines you may be interested in, will do a deal to make it worth travelling for.
mk_one_estate Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 i do quite like those wheels actually but i've already bought two superlights what engins have you got ? i'm waiting to hear back from my insurance company to see if i can afford to put my zetec in it yet if not i might be after something in the meantime cheers Marcus
Savvi Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Got a 1300 complete was running & 1600 xflow needs rebuild also got a spare 1800 silvertop was told good runner. I'd sell all of them cheapish just to get some space.
mk_one_estate Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 nice, dont suppose you know how much a rebuild would cost me do you ?? cheers M
Savvi Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Depends what you do to it, may just need a check over and the head fitting, it has been bored out previously bores look good sump is still on so not sure about bottom end. 1300 could go straight in so you can upgrade to that then spend some time doing the 1600 ? Personally i wouldnt buy a "rebuilt" one unless you hear it running or it's from a reptuble engine builder, over the years i've lost count of how many engines i've fitted and they have been rubbish.
