Thanks for the welcome guys! Are there any buyers guides to the mk1 and 2 escorts? I'm very green to it all and not sure what to look for to make sure I get a genuine shell!

Best bet is to visit car shows, and ask the guys how they obtained theirs, and what to look for. saying that I'm in the same boat really as you, been 20 odd years since I brought a ford, and I'm collecting one Friday, 2 grand paid, and Ive just seen a picture. lordy sakes who am I to give advice!!

Just Had myself a Mk4 Cortina, with a BOB 2.9 engine chucked into it,

and after loads of motors, Im back to being 17 again, have a perma smile on my onion, love it, needs fettling and fiddling with, but thats what I was missing in life, sad really, but Im in old skool heaven!! LOL

I ended up buying a Mk1. It is Originally a 1100l shell but was made into a RS2000 rep many moons ago. It is now undergoing a complete restoration. I will try to get time and add the picture to the relevant section soon
