mk1 escort wiring help anyone?

made a start on refitting the loom today but theres a couple of bits that are confusing me already, where the dash loom plugs on the back of the fuse box there is a brown wire on its own with no terminal attached? im guessing that its an earth but it does look as though it may have pulled out of the multiplug that pushes onto the fuse box, if it doesnt then where does it attach to? also where do the heater motor wires connect to as there nothing on the loom the same colour? white and white and black they are? havent even attempted to work out the engine loom yet as its gotta have the reg box and solenoid wires removed and the battery is now in the boot and also i now have an alternator lol any heads up here gladly appreciated

ah brilliant

its a 1970, im guessing its the bigger switches i must say i didnt realise there were different ones to be honest

theres a brown wire where the multi plugs attach to the fuse box and i aint sure if its pulled out of one of the multiplugs, or if it should have a terminal on it and be earthed, also the heater motor wires dont correspond with any i can see on the loom colour wise, i also got a 6dial dash and loom but dont know which wires go where but there are a few pics of this on google so can prob work it out, ill get pics tomora or sat if it helps mate nice one

right ive now got hold of a wiring diagram but im still struggling with a couple of bits,

ive got a brown wire next to the fuse box connections which is just on its own

and these 3 connections to the right of the wiring that goes to the clocks which i have no idea where they can possibly connect to

Brown wire is for reversing lights, been cut off, i just checked a loom i have that's the same.

 

 

The black / white & Green / white are indicators wires, dont think they are used unless you have Hazzards fitted, unless you have no flasher unit fitted yet ?

 

Not sure on the brown / white stripe, mine isnt connected to anything, but think it may go to the earth point on the dash ?

thanks mate ive just seen your reply on a certain other site

the car hasnt got reverse lights so that would explain that one, ah of course hazard lights no i havent got them either so that explains that as well, the other one i cant see nowhere on the clocks where it would go so i guess ill just leave that off for now and see what happens, another question if i may, how do i go about upgradeing the old 2 pin flasher to a more modern 3 pin?
