Car Tax

I drive an 01 plate MONDEO as my daily car, nothing flash but a decent size car to get around with the kids etc.

Just went online to see how much the tax will be as mine has run out to find out its £148.50 for 6 months !! What a flipping expense on top of petrol,mot etc . So even though I have always had decent sized cars I'm now thinking of buying a small hatchback ( focus ) as I have far more important things to spend my money on .. A certain Anglia

It's because of the age of the Mondeo, it's still on the "old system" where it's now £210 for a year for most .............. my van is the same.

 

 

However i'm just about to sell my runaround i've had for 2 years ........

 

Renault Lagunna 19dti 6 speed diesel ........... £135 for a year !!!!

 

Same size as youe mondeo but cos it's taxed on the emissions tax is much cheaper, just another way the goverment is managing to get the older cars off the road, some of the new stuff is £0 or £35 per year etc.

 

Another little goverment scam .............

Buy a Vauxhal combo van (same as corsa) and the tax is not done on emissions even though the car version is, it's done the old way so tax is £210 per year again ........... Why ? Cos they were losing out too much on commerical road tax !!!!!!!
