fair but the mk5 out handles the mk1 and to be honest i abbuse the hell out of it lower arms will only last 2 months max, nothing i have driven, drives like it. its a ballsy car, make the mk1 look like it driving jelly

not that much plasic its not much more advanced in crash safty as the mk1

no air bags, door bars, crumple zones, solid front ( as i found after head oning a van, van did do well i had a few scratchs)

 

runs on carbs, stand alone ignition, cable clutch, its very basic if it wasnt as it is i woundnt have bought it

lovely lol i had to cut the wing off after the suspention lifted the wing and bonnet up, and the floors less solid then a tea bag its got a dirty great plate with the seat bolt throught it after cornering and the seat fell over

 

yet it still manages to get 2 inchs of water in it when it rains??
