Basically it has it's own battery which can last on it's own battery for around a month, i supply a charge lead with the unit which can be wired in to the car ( 2 wires ) which will keep the unit charged.

 

This is a pay as you use tracker (not insurance approved) you have to buy "credits" and Sms credits to communicate with the unit and to track it on the web or a mobile phone.
