gtspus Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 Hi everyone, Im new to this website and wondering if some of you would be willing to pass on some knowledge. Im a kiwi living in the states and have just picked up a 68 mk2 Cortina GT thats be re-modeled to look like a 1600E. I am wanting to put a v8 into her over the summer and am trying to source parts for the conversion. I will be replacing the front and rear brakes, suspension, basically the whole front end, drive, diff, trans obviously. Can anybody point me in the direction of parts from other donor vehicles that could be used for the conversion, ideally I would like to puck up a donor vehicle and trafer the necessary parts directly into my Cortina. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ian
puddy Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 If you are in the good old us of a,the most obvious route would be Mustang 5.0 engine with a T5 or T56 box and a nice 8.8 narrowed axle out the back. Front suspension you could buy in this country with a rack and pinion conversion set up from Retro ,using capri struts etc.......... puddy
