is this a standard mk1 gearbox tunnel?

Ive bought this gearbox tunnel to replace the one i have in my mk1 escort as mines been bashed up pretty bad by somebody trying to get a bigger gearbox to fit.

 

Im happy with the tunnel but was wondering out of curiosity really if this is how they left the factory with the various panels tacked together or if its been done at a later date as a repair
