RossMK2 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 It's that time again and Midlands to Wales run will be on:Sunday 19th may 2013 The run is for old skool fords for example carpis, mk1/2 escorts, cortinas etc. if unsure pm meThe run will start at Telford services (TF11 8TG) junction 4 of the m54 leaving at 10am so you need to aim to be there before 9:30. We will then drive to the Ponderosa cafe on the Horseshoe Pass Llangollen (LL20 8DR) to meet up with the people from North Wales Classic Fords club arriving around 11:30. This year we will take a slight detour on our way going onto a B Road for 7 miles or so to break the motorways and A roads for those travelling from further away. After arriving we will stay for a bite to eat from the cafe that sells hot and cold food and drinks. From here Aled will be taking us on an arranged route through some of the fantastic roads of North Wales.These are the directions from Telford services to ponderosa cafe which I will print off for the day.1. Head southeast 269 ft2. Turn right toward Priorslee Rd/A464 0.2 mi3. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Priorslee Rd/A464 0.2 mi4. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the M54 ramp to Telford 0.3 mi5. Merge onto M54 5.2 mi6. At junction 7, take the B5061 exit to Wellington 0.3 mi7. Turn right onto Holyhead Rd/B5061 0.1 mi8. Turn left onto Roman Rd/B5061 (Continue to follow B5061 5.2 mi9. Continue onto Route 45 0.9 mi10. Continue onto B4380 0.1 mi11. Continue onto Emstrey Bank 1.4 mi12. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A5 Go through 6 roundabout 19.5 mi13. At Mile End Roundabout, take the 4th exit and stay on A5 heading toLlangollen/Whitchurch/A495/Wrexham/A483Go through 3 roundabouts Entering Wales 7.2 mi14. At the McDonalds roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on A5 heading toLlangollen/Chirk/B5070Go through 1 roundabout 5.9 mi15. Turn right at Castle Street/A539 (signs for Ruthin/Rhuthun/A542) 0.2 mi16. Turn left at Abbey Rd/A542 5.4 mi17.
