CHASSIS NUMBER BUILD DATE TRANSIT MK1 TAX EXEMPT?

My camper is a 1974 registered 09/09/1974 I wondered if anyone can help me find out the build date to see if I can get free tax?

 

There was a chart somewhere with how to read the chassis number but i cant find it anywhere.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

the 1st 4 letters stand for.

 

Britan ,Halewood, escort,2dr, ** INSERT DATE DIGITS see chart

 

look at the 5th and 6th digit on the chassis number to see if the corrispont with any on the above chart.

Thanks mate mine is a 73 october build date no free tax for me as im sure it needs to be before jan 73 to be free

yes would have to be 01.01.73 backwards for tax exempt! its a shame as alot of campers hung around before they were built!
