THINKING OF BUYING AND FITTING A PAIR OF MEX WINGS TO MY MK1. I HAVE NOTICED YOU CAN BUY THE CHINESE ONES WHICH ARE A PALE COLOUR OR THE SLIGHTLY MORE EXPENSIVE EUROPEAN ONES WHICH ARE IN BLACK PRIMER. HAS ANYONE HAD ANY PROBS WITH FITTING THESE WINGS CHEERS SID

Chinese ones take alot of fettling, but can be done

 

Not sure on the European ones, best bet if you want the least hassle of fitting is NOS ones, i know they're expensive, but litterally will drop into place and can be welded without much cutting or chopping

 

I got one chinese and one NOS one on mine, got the drivers side to fit ok (ish), but lost interest by the passenger side and decided to use the spare NOS one I had in the garage, was on and welded up within an hour, unlike the chinese on which took 3 hours of fettling, another hour of getting it to fit to the front panel, which now has a dent where we had to bend it to reach the wing
