dalmarshall Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Nice example of a harrier wanted, I don't mind if it's white or silver, as long as its nice, ie not a reshell, caged 2 seater or zetec/pinto etc. Standard spec would be good Lowered, cibies, modified X-Flow is fine too. Are you selling one, or do you know someone who's got one! The right money is waiting for the right car 1
dalmarshall Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 Cheers guys, it's really hard trying to be patient waiting for the right one,,,,, I want one NOWWWWW!! I know theyre rare but I've been too slow on 2 already and seen a nice one which was Unfortunatly a reshell, so hopefully I won't have to wait too long!
nma mark Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 Any help, http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/ford-escort-16-harrier-2-doors-manual-5-speed-saloon/1020162034
dalmarshall Posted June 25, 2013 Author Report Posted June 25, 2013 It's nice but at least £6-7k overpriced lol! Thanks for putting it up though
mk2 mike Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 Fook me, how much? I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale but I wouldn't want to pay more than 10k for a non RS escort ?? What budget do you have Dal?
SmokeEm Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 I am so embarrassed! I scrapped a white harrier in 1989 coz it had rippled rear qtr's
dalmarshall Posted June 26, 2013 Author Report Posted June 26, 2013 Fook me, how much? I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale but I wouldn't want to pay more than 10k for a non RS escort ??What budget do you have Dal? My limit is £14k. I don't think any harrier is worth more than that.
mk2 mike Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 I agree mate. I'll keep an eye open for you
mk2 mike Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Dal you seen this? Not mint but well within your budget. http://bit.ly/16jKq2n
dalmarshall Posted July 11, 2013 Author Report Posted July 11, 2013 Yes mate seen that one, needs too much doing that one, a posts for a start, I do like how he's taken the time to cover the number plates for the photos...................then included a photo with the tax disc and reg no.........lol! It's also originally a silver one according to old photos I have of it. Thanx for putting it up tho Mike, appreciate it bud
sidpf1972 Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 What's the difference between a harrier shell and a pop plus shell
dalmarshall Posted July 11, 2013 Author Report Posted July 11, 2013 Harrier shell is same as 1600 sport. I check the spare wheel bracket in the boot as its on the boot floor like an RS due to a 6j wheel. Non RS shells have it in the well. Other than that I dont think there's much else
Top Ghia Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 All the info on Harriers you need is here. http://www.escortmk2harrier.webs.com/ 1
In The Pit Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 A Harrier shell is the same as a Popular Plus shell (a 2 door one) apart from having the spare wheel strap bracket on the boot floor rather than in the well.
Daz271 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 A silver harrier has just been listed on eBay Darren, start price of 12.5k. Looks a nice thing with a 1700 x-flow and LSD etc, sorry I don't know how to post a link from my phone
dalmarshall Posted July 17, 2013 Author Report Posted July 17, 2013 Messaged him, will phone today. Cheers Dal!
frankthefencer Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 I would buy that one all day long. Nice car
mk2 mike Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Now that is a good looking car! Buy it buy it buy it!
disco66 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-Escort-Harrier-/111121062337?roken=dJRJVd
dalmarshall Posted July 17, 2013 Author Report Posted July 17, 2013 So far I have found out it has had a lot of repairs in the past (ok haven't they all) some good some bad A pillars lead filled, very lairy cam with wild power delivery, shit until warmed up. From the ad, alloys don't work in blue for me, RS ones look good with blue inserts on a white one but not revolites No over riders on bumpers, no spots or fog light (minor bits I suppose but hard to acquire good ones) Tran x gearbox on a 130bhp x flow, no need! Too noisy It looks cool and I wouldn't mind it................for a couple of grand less! There was an almost concours one recently for£12500 ish And an absolutely amazing concours one for 14 in may Both of which I was too slow but they have set a benchmark now and this one doesn't match up with its price, for me anyway
Daz271 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Thats a shame dal but it is a lot of money so you have to find a car your happy with
SmokeEm Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Some might say you are picky Dal but I'll bet I wasn't the only one to secretly think that just isn't original enough for that money. I've never had such a budget but if I did, I would want almost perfection for that cash. They ARE out there mate. 1
