For sale is my 1978 Mk2 escort.
I didnt think i would ever sell it having put so much hard work and time into it, but i just don't seem to be able to find the time any more to use it what with work and family commitments.
I built the car myself from just an empty shell, every single nut and bolt and sprayed it myself too, and all in my single garage.
The car had a big feature in the Classic Ford magazine and was invited by them to show it at the Classic Ford show at Santa Pod. It also won me the title of homebuilt hero of 2011.
The car only ever covers a few hundred miles every year getting driven from show to show and then is locked away in the garage again, so maybe its time for someone else to enjoy it.
The car looks better in the flesh, the pictures don't really do it justice.
So the car is as follows:

Body.
Ally tarmac arches blended into body,ally front spoiler, fibreglass boot,perspex side windows that manually go up and down,Hella spotlights, waxoiled and finished in Ford olympic blue(2 pac) and painted underneath.

Engine.
Chassis mounted 2.0 xe,forged pistons, lightened and dynamically balanced, uprated big end bearings,ARP bolts, modified gas flowed head with 3 angle valve seats, high lift cams, vernier pullys,45 dcoe Weber carbs, port matched, tolerences blue printed, MBE ecu, 11:1 compression ratio, built by Jason Langon of Hellier performance, remote oil filter,
ally sump,Powerspeed stainless steel exhaust manifold and under body pipe(not back box) fitted in exhuast tunnel.

Transmition.
Getrag 5 speed gearbox with custom made single piece prop.

Suspension.
Front, Bilstein coilovers, roller top mounts, adjustable TCA's quick rack, twincam anti roll bar, anti dive and double width kit.
Rear, Bilstein shock, single leaf de-cambered springs, tramp bars, panard rod, poly bushed throughout. English rear axle with limited slip diff.

Brakes.
Front, 280mm vented cosworth discs, modified hubs, mondeo callipers.
Rear,XR 4x4 discs and callipers (caprisport set up), cabled hand brake. AP racing 551 brake fluid, bias pedal box, braided lines throughout.

Wheels and tyres.
Compomotive FH alloys 9x15 rears with 225/50/15 Toyo proxes T1R thyres and 8x15 fronts with 205/50/15 toyo proxes T1R tyres.


Interior.

Safety Devises rollcage, Sparco sprint bucket seats with ally side mounts, Luke 4 point harnesses, OMP steering wheel, ally centre consol/switch panel,brake fuel and power lines all run inside of car, doors stripped out with carbon look door cards, fire wall, centrally mounted capri fuel tank in boot with ally filler,ally battery tray, Facet red top fuel pump and Filter King fuel regulator.

I have receipts for everything.


Every nut and bolt throughout the car is stainless steel(where possible).
The car only weighs 880 kilos and the engine produces around the 200 bhp mark so its good fun to drive.

The car is in Essex
Its tricky putting a price on it, i know they,re only worth what some-one is willing to pay for them, but i think im willing to listen to very serious offers around the £14,995 mark.

No silly offers please, im not desperate!
