Mgentry90 Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 Need to remove drive shafts from axle, anybody got a slide hammer I can use? Or any other suggestions please cheers I'm in aveley essex
711jrp Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 You "can" bolt a old steel wheel back on and beat the inside with a big club hammer or sledge at a push if you're stuck.
Mgentry90 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Report Posted November 22, 2013 Would this work with the axle on my kitchen floor? Lol 1
711jrp Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 I'd probably take it into the garden first if you want to be still be talking to the old doris when you've finnished.
over_head_cam Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 Take the bolts out that hold the shaft in, then with a drift, or a slightly thinner bolt tap the shaft out through the bolt holes. keep turning the shaft to a different position and it will come out. HTH
Mgentry90 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Report Posted November 22, 2013 Atlas axle, bolts are a blind hole
rallyesport04 Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 as above stick a old steel wheel on an beat the living daylights out of it you might chase it around the garden a bit but it will come out if you got a solid object to ratchet strap it too that will help
Mgentry90 Posted November 22, 2013 Author Report Posted November 22, 2013 Thanks guys that's tomorrow's job if I'm free, hope I have a steel wheel! Think I do.
