over_head_cam Posted November 27, 2013 Report Posted November 27, 2013 I'm sure you can contact DVLA and for a fee, find out the history of owners.
iandq Posted November 27, 2013 Report Posted November 27, 2013 you can apply to dvla for a list of former keepers as long as you are the current keeper of the vehicle, they normally only hold records dating back to the introduction of the v5. sometimes details from the old 'log book' were not added to the system, so you may only get the info you already know. it's only a nominal fee, ( a fiver i think ) so well worth a try anyway. good luck, ian.
Mr Day Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 You'll need a v888 form, should have them at your local post office, fill that in stating you've bought the car and are hoping to build a picture of it's history as it asks you why you want the information, send off with £5 (cheque) and you should receive a list of previous owners and their addresses (at the time they owned it) with photocopies of the old logbooks.
skeeter Posted December 1, 2013 Report Posted December 1, 2013 If it is one owner from new then you have the previous keeper on the V5, why not contact them? S
