pnwrs2000 Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 Don't suppose any has or could make up a picture of a signal orange unarched mk2 escort with gold 7 or 8" minilights ??? Cheers
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 5, 2014 Admin Report Posted April 5, 2014 Come on you lot ... someone must be able to help
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 5, 2014 Admin Report Posted April 5, 2014 Moved to Old Skool Chat for more coverage.
livewire7116 Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I have an unarched mk2 in orange and have some gold 8s, only problem is they are buried in the shed, what info are you trying to find out?
pnwrs2000 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Report Posted April 6, 2014 Cheers Jo & livewire7116 - I'm just after a few pictures to see how they would look. I think I'm decided on minilites but didn't know if gold rather than silver might be an option ???
DT36 Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 My MK2 RS has gold wheels and it looks OK. If you know how to change the colour in Photoshop, then I can post some up. I tried, but my attempt looked like a 4 year old had done it with a highlighter marker... However, I am thinking of having mine done in an anthracite grey and think they would look really nice against orange too.
livewire7116 Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 im guessing you car is arched to take 8s I run a 47" atlas with 8s and a 0 offset, with a Michelin pb200 it just fits the arches!
pnwrs2000 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Report Posted April 6, 2014 No mines not arched. I'll be getting 7's but can't picture if it'll look right with gold wheels so a pic or two of 7's or 8's might hopefully answer the question one way or the other. Cheers
livewire7116 Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 it does look nice on gold rims, I didn't take any pics when I had them on as tend to change rims as the conditions change due to different compounds of rubber

DT36 Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 If you post it here I can tweak it and repost OK. Here's a few that you might be able to paint. Hopefully they will do the trick, but the gold wheels are not so prominent in the pics. The main part of the rim is alloy, with the spokes being gold. Probably the best one would be the side on, seen on the rolling road.
Danish Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 A rough-and-ready attempt... I can change the shade of orange if you like. 1
pnwrs2000 Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Cheers !!! Fantastic that ! First reaction is I think it might look quite good but possibly not with a polished lip. What do people think ???
SmokeEm Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Well Well Jayne - you have more talent than just car building!!! I don't even own photoshop
DT36 Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Haha, top job. I would have plumped for anthracite with orange, but now I've seen it, I think it goes well.
Danish Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 I quite like the polished rim I do too. It breaks the colour between the orange and gold. I had a go for my own project too. I'm building a Cortina version of this car and I think it rather suits the gold minilights... 1
