Waynebromley7 Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Hi , new to the forum got told about osf by a friend so thought I'd ask for your collective help/advice . I had a harrier back in the late 80's ( which got pinched & never resurfaced ) and would like to fill a space in my garage with one , ideally it would be in the stratos silver & all the right bits in the right places , I've seen one on eBay at the moment & would appreciate any advice or comments that you could give me . Cheers
irishtorag Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Only advice anyone can give is look at harrier forum/club page make yourself aware of parts added positions of say even spare wheel stap mounting as to said car being genuine or not contact seller for chassis numbers to check on harrier club site to find if its a proper harrier most of all look with your eyes (not heart or memorys) and take a friend that will advise what you fail to see buy the best you can afford as they arnt cheap to get parts for or rebuild good luck with maybe future purchace
bigbadsquare Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 The strut tops on the one on eBay have had plates welded on , wrong spots , and no over riders . Interior looks nice but not enough body pics , have a good look at it in person before buying. It was registered on the harrier web site and none of the above are total turn offs , just point to double checking quality of body and any repairs .
dalmarshall Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I heard a couple of weeks ago that BFT 5V was for sale, arguably one of the best by all accounts. Price wise I'd imagining it to be considerably more than the one on ebay although I don't know if you have a budget. As said, make some inquiries on the harrier site. The ebay one, I wouldn't fancy it myself for that sort of money, sunroof, strut tops etc. correct spots are hard to come by (if that bothers you that they're the wrong ones)
cdeane74 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Yer one on ebay needs a fair bit of work inside and out,by the time uve spent money and time getting it right,ur prob better off spending a bit more on a decent one, then replacing the bits as they wear out, rust or break(they will do!) ,forever gettin bits for mine
Waynebromley7 Posted April 22, 2014 Author Report Posted April 22, 2014 Thanks for all the advice & words of wisdom I will post an update as and when , if anyone hears of one for sale pls post up . Cheers

mk2 v6 Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I may know of one a friend of mine has a silver one nut and bolt restored, will ask as the last time he said he wanted to sell I passed his number to someone and it seemed he changed his mind and didn't answer his phone.
dalmarshall Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 That was me. I assume you mean mark in Grays, if so, he decided he couldn't sell as he had put £30k odd into the resto and wasn't gonna get it back.

I know he has realized he will never get his money back and is thinking of selling again.
