Cross flow loom electrical problems help

Help !!!!!!!!!

 

Put cross flow loom back in and before attaching the zetec loom thought I would check the electrics , I have main beam , side lights, fuel gauge, hazards . But have no brake lights , no indicators , no washer bottle pump, no wipers . Any ideas boys I'm at a loss .

you checked the basics fuse, live's, earths? bad live to switches? bad live to fuse box? if you didnt have fuel gauge may have been the ignition switch not powering things up on position 2

Fuses all fine, how do I check live to switches , and not sure what you mean by live to fuse box? I'm no sparky . Thanks

just need to run round making sure you have 12v, fuse can be ok but have no power. think your gonna have to check around with a multimeter

As if by magic, I am in the process of putting a presentation together for basic electrics, so take a look at the following pics.  Please be aware of where you need your red lead to be when measuring current, as this line is fused inside the meter.

However, as previously stated, confirm your battery voltage then check the wiring route for voltage with the ignition on:

I would probably start with one of the more simple systems like the brake light compared to wipers and indicators.

 

After you have checked there is 12v at all 7-8 fuses in fuse box.

 

Check for 12v at the bulb (when brakes press and ignition on) if you do then its a bulb or earth issue.

 

if not then id go to the switch on the pedal, again check for 12v, if you do then id bridge switch and see if bulb lights up (faulty pedal switch) 

 

After this would need a wiring diagram to follow and keep checking along way to see where the 12v stops.

 

I would do my checks with ignition on position 2 as I'm unsure whats circuits are powered at which possition
