Today was the annual Classics Around Dorset event, a charity meet and run of classic cars to raise money for the air ambulance and cancer research.

Around 45 or so cars met up in a field at Hazelbury Bryan and then set off for a 68 mile jaunt through rural Dorset. The cars ranged from a 1930s Roll Royce and Austin Seven, through Triumph Stags, MGA, MGB, Frogeyes, Mini, Morris Traveller, E Type, Triumph Roadster etc.

There were 2 Fords taking part, one was a lovely looking black RS500 Cosworth and the other was mine.

My car ran faultlessly all day and a lot of fun was had on the run. We all ended up back in the starting field for live music, a raffle and prizes. I was very surprised to find that the judges voted my car as the "Best Turned Out" and received a prize, particularly when I saw some of the very impressive metal on show.

All in all the day was great; the sun shone, we raised some money, saw a lot of nice old cars running around the countryside and I won a prize - what more could you ask for?
