Mk2 buying advice required

Hi all,

 

After giving it a lot of thought, my dad and I fancy putting a mk2 together.

Doing it shouldn't a massive problem, as I've some good contacts etc.

The first hurdle that we do need help with is what's a good price on a car, I've tried keeping my finger on the pulse by checking eBay/ piston heads etc, but prices seem to really fluctuate... Lots.

 

Ideally we are after a 2 door, and will go down the pinto/ 5 speed route, try and keep it standardish....we'll see

 

But for now we'd like a half descent car to start pulling apart.
