Benjy✌ Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Hi I've got a mk2 1300 escort and I've got a 1600xflow lump in the garage, There's 2 different clutches online and I was just wondering if the 1600 clutch would fit in the 1300 box? Or do I have to use a 1300 clutch? Silly question I know haha
simon varley Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I think the difference in the two is the number of splines (20T v 23T?) diameter of the friction plate should be the same. Check the number of bolts on the pressure plate attachment too. 1
72mk1escort Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 The 1300 is a slightly smaller diameter clutch if i remember correctly but the gearbox's fit all engine sizes they are just different gear ratios yours will be a short ratio box if its a 1300 unless its a sport/ghia model mk2 escort then you willl have the higher ration box longer 2nd gear if i remember rightly. hope that helps mate 1
