Does anyone know where I can source a radiator for a v6 mk5 cortina? The inlet has snapped off (plastic header tank)

OR any suitable alternatives, 2.8 capri?

Cheers

My brother picked up a catlog the other day "carbuilder.com" I thing they had some nice alloy rads in it plus thousands of other nice trick bits and bobs might be worth a look

TX1 Black cab with the 2.7 diesel rad is a very close match i been running a 2.8 in a mk3 for years with one they even have the auto box cooler in there

i made some small adapter plates and it fitted straight in

That looks like a good option, not gonna break the bank at that price either

Got myself a tx1 rad, cut off my old fabricated brackets and offered it up, looks good

Top hose fits no probs but at bottom the rad outlet is right next to the thermostat inlet and I can't get the hose anywhere near! Did you have this problem? If so, how did you get round it? What hose do you have n the bottom? Any help appreciated, cheers

It was quite tight i think i took about 3/4" off the rad end of both hoses,

Mine was in a mk3 so the rad mount is angled slightly (The top is closer to engine than Bottom by 1/2", i'm not sure about the Mk5.

I remember it being rather tight but i could get the hose on and tightened up

I know this is an old thread, but I stumbled upon it when I couldn't find a Radiator (for a sensible price) for my Mk4 2.3 tina. Based on the above I went ahead and bought a Radiator for a 2.7 TX1 Taxi. I was really surprised that it doesn't fit easily at all. List of jobs needed:

1. Create brackets. I expected this as its mentioned above

2. Re-locate Power steering cooler. This has to be moved as TX1 Radiator is larger than original

3. Lower fuel return pipe. Again this gets in the way of the new Radiator

4. Modify/source new hoses. This was also mentioned above

5. Fit electronic fan/switch. This was the most annoying issue. The new Radiator is 3 core instead of the mk4's original twin core and therefore takes up more room preventing re-use of the old fan.

I'm not sure how the others above overcame these issues, but wanted to mention it here. Had I known about the need to buy and fit an electronic fan it would of put me off going this route because it adds £40 to the cost and really makes the car more modified than I wanted it to be. New Radiators for mk 4/5 v6 are available from Germany but they are £250. My car needed several other jobs as well, so I was trying to keep the costs down as much as possible.
